Devil May Cry 5 Should Do a ‘Full Mode Change’ Like God of War 4, Says Hideki Kamiya

Hideki Kamiya creator of original Devil May Cry has posted his thoughts on Twitter regarding the direction that the rumored Devil May Cry 5 should take. Hideki Kamiya hasn’t been involved with the latest installments of Devil May Cry but that hasn’t stopped him from sharing his insights on the series.

Now Hideki Kamiya took it to Twitter and social media to talk about what he preferred to see in much rumored Devil May Cry 5. According to Kamiya, he would like DMC5 to take an approach similar to what Santa Monica is doing is God of War 4:

“I’m just throwing some ideas out there, but I think it’s about time DMC got a game design revision.Looking at current global trends and the amazing graphics in recent Capcom games, the next DMC game could do with a full model change, like the new God of War.”

He continued saying that instead of taking an anime-style hack ‘n’ slash approach, Capcom should turn DMC5 into a realistic, cinematic action game:

“Instead of being an anime-style hack ‘n’ slash, maybe Capcom will turn DMC5 into a realistic, cinematic action game?”

Devil May Cry 5 recently had a leak online on its upcoming gameplay, mechanics, story and more.

Game has been in development for 2 years as of today. When it will release it will have been in development for 3 years at least. That is actually the highest time a DMC game has been in full production for. Pre-production started as early as 2015 around the time that DMC4SE finished releasing. There have been no development hiccups and as stated, the development has in fact been progressing smoothly.

Devil May Cry 5 is rumored to early release on PS4, and delay release is rumored for PC. As for the Xbox One version, apparently, the game is not slated to launch on Microsoft’s console. What are you looking forward to seeing in Devil May Cry 5 the most? Let us know in the comments section below!
