SteelSeries Rival 600 Features Dual Sensors to Track Movements in Mid-Air

One specific area where all known gaming mice fall short is where the new SteelSeries Rival 600 promises to deliver in entirety.

It is a frequent habit to lift your mouse during play in order to reposition the peripheral. This is almost mandatory for those accustomed to using incredibly low sensitivity, which is a norm with professional or competitive players.

The lift-off distance differs between companies but is still a presiding concern because regardless of how large the surface, things may go icky if you suddenly require precision while holding the mouse in the air.

This is where the SteelSeries Rival 600 comes in to address the matter. It features not one but two different sensors. The primary one is called the “TrueMove 3 Optical Gaming Sensor” and the secondary is the “Depth Sensing Linear Optical Detection” by the company.

They work together to not only track movements on the surface but also in mid-air. In addition, players can access the proprietary software to customize the sensors to match just how high they are likely to lift the mouse during play.

“The SteelSeries Rival 600 deploys a state-of-the-art dedicated depth sensor to achieve the world’s lowest and most accurate lift off distance,” the official website reads. “Never again have unnecessary movement when you pick up and put down your mouse.”

Much like various other popular gaming mice these days, the SteelSeries Rival 600 also features moveable weights for balance adjustments and more than enough customizable RGB lighting. It has durable silicone covers on the side, and the overall shape is said to be fit for both palm and claw grips.

The SteelSeries Rival 600 is now available for purchase for $80, a pretty tall order because there are other options available that fall under that price range. However, if lift-off distance is a matter of concern for you, this might be what you have been looking for all this time.
