Seems Like PUBG Dethroned Minecraft As The Best-Selling PC Game Of All Time

UPDATE: While PUBG has surpassed Minecraft as best-selling PC game of all time based on sales figures revealed by Microsoft for Minecraft but, that might not be the case since it is unclear if these numbers include sales before Microsoft bought Minecraft.

PlayerUnknown’s Battleground has been dominating the PC gaming scene since it launched and has grown to be quite a trend and now PUBG is the best-selling PC game of all time dethroning Minecraft.

According to a report from SteamSpy, Minecraft has shifted 27.6 million copies since its launch and PUBG has managed to surpass Minecraft in terms of copies sold.

However, Steam or PUBG Corp are yet to reveal if it is indeed the best-selling PC game of all time, so take it as a grain of salt.

However, it wouldn’t be surprising if it becomes one, since the game has sold over 30 million units on PC and Xbox One combined.

The game is currently available on PC and Xbox One, the latter being in Xbox Preview, but the studio has plans to bring the game to PS4. According to PUBG Corp. CEO, they want to bring the game to PlayStation 4 but, Sony is not a fan of early access games.

PS is very strict about this. There were cases where a game took 6 months more to launch even when it was already completed. We are still in the stage of learning the console development environment and console gamers’ taste. We need to think about other platforms after evaluating and completing the Xbox One version first.

Also, Lawbreakers publisher Nexon has partially blamed PUBG for Lawbreaker’s poor sales. Speaking during the company’s earnings call for the third quarter of its fiscal year, The company blamed PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds for Lawbreakers not being able to attract a mainstream audience.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a multiplayer shooter developed by PUBG Corp. for PC and Xbox One.
