Alberto “Crumbz” Rengifo is bidding farewell to League of Legends as he prepares to join the on-air talent of analysts for the Overwatch League.

The surprising announcement was made earlier today, marking a “new chapter” in the life of the former professional player. This is surely a major loss for the League of Legends community but an immense gain for the Overwatch League.

Crumbz started his career with Team Dignitas in the North American League Championship Series (NA LCS) back in 2012. He managed to qualify for the season two world championship before showing a string of underwhelming performances in the following years.

Crumbz parted with Team Dignitas in 2015 to join Misfits for a few months before moving to Renegades. He continued to jump between a few more teams before throwing in the towel from professional play at the end of 2016.

Crumbz then joined the regional analyst desk, where he was given the title of “prophet” for his uncanny predictions coming true. Riot Games gave him the opportunity to bring his analytical skills to multiple world championships since then. The competitive atmosphere helped him to rise in terms of an esports analyst as well as an entertainer.

The first stage of matches for the inaugural season of the Overwatch League officially start on January 10 at the Blizzard Arena in Los Angeles. Tickets for the opening day have already sold out, but the rest of the weeks are still available.
