PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds rolled out for Xbox One as a game preview back in December and since then the PUBG Corp. has been supporting PUBG Xbox One with new updates to stabilize its performance and now the studio has rolled out Duo and Squad FPP Modes for NA and EU regions today.
According to the devs, following the addition of these games modes to PUBG Xbox One, they will continue to monitor player data to determine if they can “add another game mode in other regions”.
The game is currently available on PC and Xbox One, the latter being in Xbox Preview, but the studio has plans to bring the game to PS4. According to PUBG Corp. CEO, they want to bring the game to PlayStation 4 but, Sony is not a fan of early access games.
Also, Lawbreakers publisher Nexon has partially blamed PUBG for Lawbreaker’s poor sales. Speaking during the company’s earnings call for the third quarter of its fiscal year, The company partially blamed PUBG for Lawbreakers not being able to attract a mainstream audience.
We had very high expectations for its launch; however, the timing of its launch turned out to be unfortunate, specifically the blockbuster PC online game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds came out right about the same time, making the market environment very tough for first-person shooters in general and for Lawbreakers.
Nexon CTO Shiro Uemura has also written off the game and noted that the game won’t be accruing any more impairment losses and the game has been written off by the publisher.
While there is a possibility that PUBG could have an impact on the game’s sales but both of these titles completely different and belong to different video game genres
