The path to a comfortable wireless experience begins this year for HyperX with the introduction of the Cloud Flight gaming headset. The peripheral is the first of its kind from the company, featuring the same comfort and quality from its preceding lineup of headsets but without any attached wires.
As with any wireless hardware, the main concern is regarding the battery life. HyperX claims that the Cloud Flight headset can run up to 30 hours on a single charge. This means that the new offering can be placed alongside the top wireless headsets currently in the market.
However, do note that the battery life strongly depends on the built-in LED effects. 30 hours is with the LED deactivated, around 18 hours with the breathing lighting pattern, and roughly 13 hours with the LED always on.
“Sporting closed cup design with 90 degree rotating ear cups, Cloud Flight provides an immersive in-game audio experience with 50mm drivers, broadcasting at 2.4 GHz,” HyperX stated in a press release on its official website earlier today.
The noise-cancelling microphone is fully detachable, something that gamers on the move always love to have. In addition, the headset works not only on PC but also PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The HyperX Cloud Flight wireless headset is scheduled to go on sale later this month at a price point just under $200. The HyperX Cloud II wired headset is currently considered the staple for esports. Hopefully, the wireless alternative from the company will prove dependable as well.
The company has a lot more to showcase at Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2018) this week. Besides the new wireless headset, there is the HyperX Alloy Elite RGB mechanical keyboard and HyperX Pulsefire Surge RGB mouse.
