Nintendo Switch 5.0 Firmware Rumors Proven To Be Fake
Nintendo Switch is currently the console that everyone wants to own but can’t find a solid reason to do so. Giving you the opportunity to play your favorite games in both handheld and docked mode but taking away features like net browsing or video watching, fans are torn between Nintendo Switch’s use. After claims that Nintendo’s next firmware will bring such features to your console everyone started digging and getting excited, but, apparently, this was all just a hoax.
Two days ago, a video emerged on Youtube claiming it shows the Nintendo Switch Firmware 5.0 in action. The interface looks amazing, themes, internet browser, cloud service, applications like Youtube and Twitch- All were there. The video seems to be legit just by the looks of it but if you’re observant enough, you’ll notice that the features seem “fishy”.
As fans pointed out on a thread on ResetEra, the size of Mario Kart Deluxe 8 weighs in at only 2GB instead of the usual 7.9GB, so here’s the first sign that the rumors are fake. Secondly, Youtube seems to bare its previous logo so that’s a red flag too. When it comes to the shown applications: Youtube, Twitch, Hulu and Crunchyroll, fans claim that they are just devkit versions to test specific featured on the console.
After two days of digging the truth has been spoken. There’s now a mod edit on the ResetEra discussion reading:
Sources we consider reliable have come forward to indicate to us that this is fake. We’re leaving the thread open for now, but take it with more than a grain of salt.
Fake of True, the footage is so good we can’t be that mad. Someone took all this time to bait us and it contained everything we wanted from our Nintendo Switch, pure evil right? For what it’s worth let’s keep hoping that Nintendo will have some announcements to make about the Switch’s firmware at the next Nintendo Direct which will possibly be on January 11th.
