A new leak for the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date might have just come out, and if it’s correct, then we’ll be heading back to the Old West on June 8 of this year. The rumor comes from the Netherlands-based retailer Coolshop, but whether it’s accurate or not remains to be seen.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was supposed to come out in the fall of last year, however due to undisclosed setbacks the game got delayed to this year, 2018. However, there still hasn’t been a confirmed release date for the game despite a variety of “leaks” about it. Whether we’ll get one in the near future remains to be seen.
We actually know astonishingly little about Red Dead Redemption 2. While there was a story trailer out a while ago that revealed that players will be taking control of a man named Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van Der Linde gang from the original Red Dead Redemption, we don’t know much more about the story than that, along with what locations we’ll be going to beyond places like where the hideout of the gang is.
If the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date is in fact on June 8, then we still have around six months to wait before it actually releases. Hopefully, in the lead-up to the game’s release, we’ll be getting more trailers from Rockstar about it.
Rockstar has said that the leak from Coolshop was made in error, but hopefully it still comes out sometime around the summer and we’ll be able to spend that time playing the game. Considering how popular Red Dead Redemption was on release, and how much of a fuss the news of a sequel has caused (along with the huge reaction to the game being released on Xbox One’s backwards compatibility), Rockstar likely has a smash hit on its hands.
If the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date leak is true, the game will be coming out on June 8 on the Xbox One and Playstation 4.
