It is quite bizarre but the vanilla content of Destiny 2 that was taken away last month from those who chose to not purchase Curse of Osiris also included Iron Banner and Faction Rally events.
Bungie had to sit down for a while to understand why it is diabolical to take back what millions of players have already paid for, but it finally–thankfully–came to terms to what needed to be done.
The latest update for Destiny 2 finally unlocks Iron Banner and Faction Rally for all, regardless of whether they own Curse of Osiris or not. In that light, the accompanying patch notes are short but to the point.
Players who do not own Curse of Osiris may once again access Iron Banner when available
Players who do not own Curse of Osiris may once again pledge to Factions during Faction Rally events
This is the second update in the series of making up for its mistakes. Bungie previously opened up the Prestige Leviathan raid, after it too was locked away behind a pay-wall, by bringing down the recommended power level. Similarly, other base content such as Trials of the Nine and accompanying achievements were also opened for everyone.
In other news, a recent rumor claimed that the second expansion pack will be called “God of Mars” and is scheduled to release in May. Guardians will allegedly be heading out to the red planet on a rescue mission to free Rasputin and defeat the shenanigans of Charlemagne.
