Major Development in the Death of Xbox One Kinect

Announced and released back in 2013, Xbox One Kinect is finally on the verge of death. According to the latest from Microsoft, Xbox One Kinect adaptor will no longer be produced. The end of Kinect is closer than ever.

The major problem with Xbox One Kinect was its lack of third party support and proper attention from Microsoft itself. Meanwhile, the underlying reason behind these issues was underwhelming consumer demand. The Xbox One’s initial marketing went south and gave a bad-rep to Kinect as well. It spoiled Microsoft’s plans to successfully integrate Kinect into your entertainment center.

In a statement provided to the press, Microsoft spokesperson revealed that the company plans to focus on high fan-requested products.

As for any plans to bring back the item in the future, the representative declined to discuss Microsoft’s product roadmap but said the adapter “will no longer be available

This pretty much marks the end of support for Microsoft’s Xbox One Kinect. Compared to the original Xbox 360 Kinect, it lasted for a much shorter period of time. The Kinect didn’t offer much to the player in terms of content and features.

Hopefully, Microsoft will not make the same mistakes with whatever they plan to replace Kinect with.
