The infamous Diablo III’s anniversary dungeon will be making a return to Diablo III, as stated by Blizzard. The Darkening of Tristram event will take place on January 1, 2018, just like it did one year ago. The event is meant to be a tribute to the first edition of Diablo.
Upon entering the Dungeon, players will get to fight in an environment akin to the one that they found in the first iteration of the franchise. Players’ FPS will drop down to 30, the graphics will pixelate all of a sudden, the Interface will change and so will the movement of the characters.
If you want to participate in the event, all you need to do is to play the adventure mode of the game and move to the Old Ruins of Tristram. There will be a portal near the fountain which will take you to a Level 16 dungeon. Here you will be able to face a lot of the monsters that were present in the original Diablo such as the Wirt’s leg and the Butcher’s Cleaver.
There are also decent rewards for those who manage to clear the dungeon. Players will be rewarded with Transmogrification Weapons, Royal Calf, Butcher and the Red Soul Shard, which makes attempting to beat the dungeon quite an important event for most serious Diablo III players.
To add the icing on the cake, there will be event specific rewards which you will be able to earn as you play through the dungeon as well.
The event will be available on Jan. 01, 2018 on the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC version of the game.
