There will also be many surprises on this list, which ones? Let’s take a look!

Games of 2018

Anthem
Due to the massive success of Destiny, BioWare’s take on the genre is surely going to excite many. The new Mass Effect may have been a bummer but Anthem might just be the perfect comeback.

Dauntless
Hunting monsters in a free to play title, what else could fans of the Monster Hunter series need? The new action RPG has a lot of hype, and we are aboard the train.

Dauntless

Dreams
There is not a lot of information available about this game, but the fact that it is a sandbox where you can create your own dreams is more than enough to tingle our senses.

Dreams

Red Dead Redemption 2
The game was supposed to have already been released, but the wait will surely be worth it if it means we can get a release on par with the first edition in terms of quality.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Spider Man
Even though the franchise has had its ups and downs, the developers of sunset overdrive are surely capable of finally giving the fans of the superhero what they have yearned for.

Spiderman

Yakuza 6
The last edition of the series propelled its popularity tenfold, and thus the new entry of the series will definitely excite a large portion of the gaming community. Get ready for a drama blockbuster which just might knock the wind out of your lungs.

Yakuza

Yoshi
After the universally acclaimed Zelda and Mario, we can only wonder what great twists we can expect with a reboot of the Yoshi series on the Switch.

Yoshi

Far Cry 5
Far Cry has always been an awaited release, but the fact that the new edition will be set in the modern-day United States and tackle real-world issues means that we are even more impatient than before for its release.

Far Cry 5

Fe
This seems to be EA’s attempt at trying to revitalize their studios through an almost indie-like title. Whether it will be littered with micro-transactions, we don’t know. However, we do wonder what EA will do with the idea which puts players in a dark forest with limitless exploring options.

Fe

God of War
The universally acclaimed series attempts to reboot and focus on the Norse gods rather than the Greek ones. It will be interesting to see how the story develops as Kratos is now a father.

God of War

Mega Man 11
The game now has a brand-new aesthetic. As it will probably still adhere to the classic games in the series, it will be interesting to see the tiny upgrades that make the game stand out from the previous 10 renditions.

Mega Man 11

Metro Exodus
The austere tale of the series will continue in the next iteration of Metro Exodus. It will be interesting to see the graphical and the gameplay changes introduced along with the new features such as dynamic weather.

Metro Exodus

Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom
Level-5 Inc. has always been known for its innovation. And the second iteration of Ni No Kuni will expand upon the world of the Ghibli Studio. The story is surely going to be exciting as will the characters which is why we are really excited about this release.

Ni No Kuni 2

Ooblets
This game is perfect for fans of both Pokemon and Animal Crossing. You can manage your farm and grow crops. But wait, YOU CAN ALSO BATTLE OTHER PEOPLE.

Ooblets

Skull & Bones
Naval Warfare seems to be the next big thing when it comes to gaming ideas, and Skull & Bones seems to be at the forefront as shown by its reveal trailer. Ubisoft may be a turn off for many players, but let us hope that the game is not a slew of bugs but rather a perfect execution of the developer’s vision.

Skill & Bones

Surviving Mars
This new take on the survival genre surely excites our taste buds. It comes from the developers of Cities: Skylines so you know that it is good. Try this game out and see if you can build a colony on Mars from scratch.

Surviving Mars

Vampyr
One of the games that I am really excited about, and am going to purchase on release. If you have played Life is Strange, then you know the potential of Don’t Nod entertainment. If you haven’t, then this game is as good as any to fall in love with the studio.

Vampyr

The Walking Dead
The previous three seasons have been fantastic, and this one is expected to be the same. We eagerly await the release to see just how does the story end.

The Walking Dead

System Shock
The game which opened the doors and paved the way for blockbusters like Bioshock and Dishonored is finally being rebooted nearly 24 years after its release. This sci-fi classic will surely make a lot of former gamers buy new PCs while it garners a new fan base simultaneously.

System Shock

Battalion 1944
By far the game that I am most excited for. The idea of Battalion is simple, reignite the spark of the classic Medal of Honor and Call of Duty series. This game is a spiritual successor to COD 2 and COD 4 Promod, which alone makes it worth a buy for me. It will surely be exciting to have that fluid movement and smooth gunplay combined with a matchmaking system.
