A spokesman for the game development studio XDev said that Playstation in 2018 will be even better than it was this year, and that players haven’t seen anything yet. Considering how many amazing Playstation games have come out this year, one can only imagine what’s coming in the future.
E3 and a number of other Playstation events have already promised us some great games in the future, such as the next God of War game, the zombie survival game Days Gone, The Last Of Us Part 2, the Insomniac Games Spider-Man title, Sucker Punch’s upcoming Ghost of Tsushima, and more are all slated to be coming out in 2018, along with numerous other multiplatform games like Monster Hunter World and Dragon Ball FighterZ. There’s even the possibility that Kingdom Hearts 3 will be releasing next year, too, after years and years of waiting.
The Playstation 4 has held the advantage over the Xbox One ever since the two consoles released, bolstered by a stronger catalogue of exclusive games, better graphics and resolution, and less features that were seen as intruding on the privacy of gamers (a source of heavy criticism for the Xbox One when it was first announced).
With 2017 giving Playstation gamers games like Horizon Zero Dawn, Persona 5, Uncharted 4: The Lost Legacy, Nioh, Yakuza 0, Hellblade, and Nier: Automata, Playstation in 2018 is going to have to work hard to outdo themselves, and hopefully they’re able to do it. Even if a Playstation game didn’t win Game of the Year this year at The Game Awards (though many Playstation games were nominated, Nintendo’s Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild took the award), they still made a ton of amazing games.
Either way, keep an eye on Playstation in 2018 to see what all we’ll be getting in the near future once 2018 rolls around. From what we’ve seen so far, we’ve got a lot of fun ahead of us.
