When Street Fighter 5 Arcade Edition releases next month, it will feature a Team Versus mode that allows you to combine forces against others.
Posting on its official blog earlier today, Capcom explained that a single team will be made up of a maximum of five players. The limit is not set in stone and can be lowered as long as both teams have an equal number of players.
The Team Versus mode will support two different match formats. “Elimination” will see the winner stay on as both teams fight to the last man standing, and “Best of Series” will pit each team member against their corresponding opponent until one team wins the majority of the matches.
The menu will further allow teams to reorder their players before the battle begins, as well as tweak the amount of vitality regained and meter gauge retained after each round. This information will be displayed on the screen for the contenders, and also confirm what V-Trigger has been selected by each player. Take note that players will have the option to choose their V-Triggers at the start of each match, allowing them to switch strategies based on what opponent they are facing.
Those in search of a challenge can jump into the mode alone and go up against a team of five, or play as all five member of their own team. It offers a pretty neat way to learn multiple characters on the go.
Street Fighter 5 Arcade Edition is scheduled to release on January 16 for PlayStation 4 and PC at the cost of $39.99. It will be available in both physical and digital forms on the console, but only digitally on PC. Securing an early physical copy from select retailers will get you nine costumes for free.
