Apparently, Destiny 2 PC sales have made the game Activision’s biggest PC launch ever, along with Call of Duty: WW2 managing a million dollars in sales. The two games have made Activision the publisher of two of the biggest games of the year. Along with that, Destiny 2 sales have eclipsed Destiny sales.
Even with the various criticisms that have been leveled against both games, it appears that that hasn’t impacted the popularity of the games at all. Destiny 2, being a bigger and better entry in the Destiny story (what with it having an actual story campaign, bigger areas to explore, more things to do in Patrol mode, and more), it’s not a surprise that the game has sold so well.
The game finally making its way over to to the PC back in October also opened up another big market, especially since many PC gamers have been wanting to hop on the Destiny train ever since the first game came out exclusively on consoles. While there’s no indication that the original Destiny will ever find its way to the PC, Destiny 2 PC sales have shown that lots of people are still interested.
Alongside all of the Destiny 2 PC successes, Call of Duty WW2 has reached the $1 million mark in sales, making it the top video game of this year even with all of the other good games that came out in 2017 such as Horizon Zero Dawn, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and more. While it didn’t win the Game of the Year award at the Game Awards (that honor went to Breath of the Wild), it’s still been a huge success.
If you don’t want to let the various criticisms about Destiny 2 get you down, and have a PC that can run it, you can contribute to the Destiny 2 PC sales by buying it off of Blizzard’s Battle.net client.
