PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Hits 1 Million Players On Xbox One, Another Milestone Reached
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has just been released on Xbox One last week and even though its performance was far from perfect, it attracted many new lovers to the game. Apparently, PUBG is not only super popular on PC as it was announced that there are now more than 1 million players playing the game on Xbox One consoles.
The game is now available on Xbox One through the Game Preview program and will leave early access on the 20th of December. What this means is that its testing time is over and its first huge update bringing the new map, as well as the vaulting system and several other new updates, is coming in a week. This will attract even more players to the game so we expect it to reach even bigger milestones in the future for both Xbox One and PC.
The PlayerUnknown himself, Brendan Greene has posted on Twitter about this:
Over 1M players tried PUBATTLEGROUNDS within 48hrs of launch on Xbox Game Preview!
This is humbling, so thank you all! It’s the start of the road on console for us. We‘ve lots to improve & update over the coming months & w/ your feedback we’ll make a great game together!
Microsoft has also reported that the Game Preview version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds had a million players in its first 48 hours. Even with some minor bumps with the game’s performance, it managed to win over the Xbox One fans, hoping to get even more in the future.
In related news, as part of a holiday promotion, Microsoft will give a copy of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to everyone that buys the Xbox One X from December 17 through December 31, in select regions.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is getting officially released on December 20th and its first big update bringing the new Desert map and the vaulting system will be available on this day too.Until then, Microsoft and Bluehole will continue fixing performance issues that players have found when playing the game on Xbox One so that it’s ready for release next week.
