A new piece of Wolfenstein 2 DLC called “The Adventures of Gunslinger Joe” has now been made available by Machine Games, the first of the game’s “Freedom Chronicles” DLC episodes that will be released now that the game has been launched. The DLC is available on all platforms: Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The Adventures of Gunslinger Joe tells the story of football player Joe “Gunslinger” Stallion, who was ripped from his promising football career by the Nazis and sent to Research Facility Omega. Now, thirsting for vengeance against the Commandant that put him there, Stallion will follow a trail of blood until he can find the Commandant and kill him.
Joe will only be one of three different characters that will be showing up in the Freedom Chronicles DLC. The other two Wolfenstein 2 DLC characters include former OSS agent Jessica Valiant and US Army soldier Gerald Wilkins, both of whom have their own missions against the Nazis.
Considering that Wolfenstein has made Nazi-punching cool again after a seventy-year drought, it’s no surprise that Machine Games is making more Wolfenstein 2 DLC to capitalize not only on the success of the reboot but also the popularity of both of the games, which have both gotten critical acclaim.
The Freedom Chronicles DLC are also a bit of a departure from the DLC for Wolfenstein: The New Order, which only got one DLC, “The Old Blood” that returned Wolfenstein to its roots of Nazi occultism instead of the Jetpack Hitler design aesthetic that is used in the series now, what with Nazi robots and super-soldiers.
The first episode of the Wolfenstein 2 DLC will take you from the ruins of Chicago all the way up to the vastness of space, so if you’re up for another pulp movie-style action ride, you can pick up the DLC for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC now.
