If you are a top-down turn-based strategy fan then you’ll already know Wasteland 2. InXile’s famous post-apocalyptic strategy title will be coming to the Nintendo Switch according to a tease on Twitter by CEO Brian Fargo.
Not only will the Wasteland 2 get released on Nintendo’s famous console but it will also be its Director’s Cut edition that will become available to Switch owners. For those wondering what the Director’s Cut edition means, take a look at its features:
- Complete Graphics Overhaul: Rebuilt in Unity 5, Wasteland 2’s environments and characters have been updated to take advantage of the latest graphics technologies.
- Perks &: Quirks: Customize your squad even more! Perks & Quirks are special personality traits you can use to give your characters even more life, with their own unique bonuses… and drawbacks.
- Precision Strikes: Fire on your enemies and debilitate them with tactical attacks! Cripple a leg to slow an enemy down, fire on their gun to blast it to bits, or aim for the head to knock them senseless – or blow it clean off.
- Expanded Voice Over: Over 8,000 lines of new voice-over dialog have been added for the game’s characters and companions, bringing the Wasteland to life like never before.
Fargo was amazed by the attention his tweet got by Nintendo owners, showing one more time that they don’t care about “huge triple-A titles” but a chance to play their favorite game on a handheld console. He said:
“I have to give props to Nintendo owners for your love of the machine. My Wasteland Switch screenshot had the quickest traction of most anything I’ve ever tweeted.”
Games like Wasteland 2, Shadowrun, Pillars of Eternity, Torment: Tides of Numenera or Divinity: Original Sin can all be strong candidates for a port on Nintendo Switch since they are not really demanding graphics-wise and can be enjoyed either on a handheld or a couch console.
