Bandai Namco Announces New Characters For Dragon Ball FighterZ

By   /   Dec 14, 2017

All Dragon Ball fans will agree that the latest anime addition to the saga is by far the most thrilling we’ve seen in the anime overall. Since the anime became such a success, it’s only natural that some of the most iconic characters of the anime will be added to Bandai Namco’s latest title, Dragon Ball FighterZ.

The company announced that 3 of the most powerful characters in the anime will be indeed part of the game, one of which is the mouth dropping Black Goku we’ve seen for the first time a few weeks ago. Beerus will also be added to the roster alongside Hit bringing the roster to a total of 24 heroes.

There is also some context revealed for each hero, explaining how some of their special attacks work:

  • Beerus: His Meteor Special “God of Destruction’s Judgment” appears to be a grab move that follows with a forehead flick and combo. His “Sphere of Destruction” is a ball that explodes when touched by the opponent.
  • Hit: His Meteor Special “I will continue to grow” stops time and is followed by a combo attack. He’s able to perform teleportation attacks and movements.
  • Goku Black: His Meteor Special “Work of God” starts with a hand blade attack and is followed by a clone attack. He can also bring out Zamasu to bind the opponent.

The announcements don’t stop there though. Bandai Namco has also revealed some information about other features of Dragon Ball FighterZ on Jump magazine. First of all, we have the “Come forth, Shenron!” which is a mechanic used in battle, which allows you to choose between some powerful powerups.

To call upon Shenron you’ll have to gather all 7 dragonballs faster than your opponent, to change the battle’s tide. The dragon ball meter will be viewable by both players and whoever reaches the objective will be able to choose out of four wishes of full health recovery, revive an ally, additional sparking icon, or health regeneration.

Included in Dragon Ball FighterZ we’ll find “Dramatic Scenes”, which is a feature dedicated to Dragon Ball fans that lets you watch iconic battle scenes from the anime as long as you fulfill some minor objectives.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is set for release on February 1 in Japan and January 26, 2018, in America and Europe. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
