Destiny 2 Locked Content Fix Promised for Curse of Osiris, May Not Be What You Think
It has been more than a week since Curse of Osiris was released to shock the community with Destiny 2 locked content that was previously available.
Due to the increased level cap, Bungie made it mandatory to own the expansion pack in order to access certain vanilla content. This includes the Leviathan raid at Prestige difficulty, which was already paid for by millions when they purchased Destiny 2 back in September.
The community has naturally been fuming with anger because there is no substantial reason for the developer to suddenly put base content behind another pay-wall. This has also prevented players from earning achievements and trophies tied up with that specific locked content.
Posting on its official website earlier today, Bungie promised changes to the precarious matter. However, there are concerns that these changes might not be what everyone is hoping for.
“We are aware that there are some Destiny 2 trophies and achievements that have become unavailable to players who have not purchased Curse of Osiris,” Bungie stated. “We are committed to fixing this issue, and are currently investigating a solution. Please stay tuned for more updates on this topic as progress is made.”
As indicated, there is no guarantee that the Destiny 2 locked content will be unlocked for everyone in the coming days. There is speculation that the developer will only free up the achievements and trophies to no longer require the original content. There will only be more players venting their anger online if that ends up taking place.
In its current state, those interested in a complete experience must forcefully purchase Curse of Osiris. Until a valid fix has been released, the community is calling on everyone to refund their copies of the game.
