The waiting period is finally over. The Division 1.8 patch notes are finally here and from the looks of it, clearly fulfill the previous promise of an enormous batch of new content for players to keep themselves busy with during the holiday season.
To begin with, the much-awaited update will add a new accessible area called “West Side Pier” that is divided between the north and south zones. This area will be crawling with enemies that have joined forces to achieve the similar goal of domination. “Camp Clinton” will act as a new safe house and social hub, and there will be new special and daily assignments to go through for the players.
In addition, The Division 1.8 patch notes detail the two new incoming game modes. “Skirmish” will be your basic four-versus-four team deathmatch, while “Resistance” will be a player-versus-environment horde bout.
There will be new classified gear to obtain, featuring several weapon choices that pack a mean punch. The “Optimization Station” is another new inclusion that will provide players with a new way to improve their gear for different builds.
Not to mention that the update changes the rules of engagement in the Dark Zone, brings quality-of-life improvements to the user interface, fixes various bugs, and balances existing gear.
The changelog is massive but one that should interest players considering to return to the game. The Division 1.8 patch notes can be browsed here.
The massive update was first revealed back in August. Ubisoft has since then been hyping the new build all the way. The Division will receive the update tomorrow on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Incidentally, it will be the same day that Destiny 2 receives its first expansion pack called Curse of Osiris.
