Atsushi Morita, the president of Sony Entertainment Interactive in Japan and Asia, has high hopes for upcoming Playstation games. In a statement at the Playstation Awards in Tokyo, Morita said that he wanted the games to bring joy to people and touch their souls, and hopefully he’ll be right.
With a large number of highly anticipated games coming to Playstation 4 in the near future, including things like a remade Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Of Us 2, Days Gone, God of War, and more, there’s likely going to be a large number of different upcoming Playstation games that will be able to affect people in a number of ways.
For instance, Shadow of the Colossus is a product of Team ICO, who have made a wide variety of games that are able to touch the hearts of the gamers that play them, ranging from the silent tragedy of Shadow of the Colossus, to the simple, wordless journey of a boy and his…beast…in The Last Guardian.
Naughty Dog’s Uncharted games have also always gotten positive reviews, but its much more dramatic series The Last Of Us has gotten a great deal of praise for its writing. While there’s no telling if the game’s sequel will be coming out this year, hopefully it will still be able to affect a lot of people through its story and drama.
A wide variety of other Playstation games that have come out this year, such as Horizon Zero Dawn and Persona 5, have also gotten a lot of praise for their gameplay, worlds, and story, which is why both of them are up for the running as Game of the Year.
Hopefully in the future, what with all of these other upcoming Playstation games coming out, Morita will be able to live up to his boasting about what Playstation games will do.
