The Bureau: XCOM Declassified Is Now Free Via The Humble Bundle

You can now get The Bureau: XCOM Declassified for free on the Humble Bundle store, but you'd better hurry because it'll only be free for two more days.

If you’re a gamer that likes free games (and let’s face it, in this day and age, who doesn’t?) then you can currently buy The Bureau: XCOM Declassified for free on the Humble Bundle website, netting you a solid third-person shooter onto your PC at no cost to you.

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is a third-person shooter video game that focuses on the first days of the XCOM project, during the Cold War. When Earth comes under attack by an army of hostile alien invaders, the US government forms an elite clandestine organization to fight against it.

Players can collect schematics and various alien weapons to bring back to your base over the course of the story, mirroring the normal XCOM narrative of starting out with body armor and regular human weapons before upgrading to powered armor and plasma guns, not to mention all of the other abilities like drones and deployable turrets you can use.

While the game got only middling or average reviews when it released back in 2013, it’s still a solid game that ties into XCOM: Enemy Unknown, allowing you to play through a continuous sort of narrative if you have all three games on your PC. And even if it is a mediocre game, the fact that you got it for free should soften the blow a good bit if you end up not liking it.

However, if you do intend to pick up The Bureau: XCOM Declassified for free, you should probably do it fast. The game only has a little under two days left before it goes back to its regular twenty dollar price tag, so if you’re an XCOM fan and haven’t played The Bureau yet, or at least want to try it out, you can grab the game off of the Humble Bundle website.
