Rumor: Devil May Cry 5 To Launch For PS4 First Then For PC, Release On Any Other Platform Unlikely
Capcom has been very evasive when asked about the next entry in the Devil May Cry franchise and recently a leak revealed massive details about the game, its gameplay mechanics, story and more, however, another leak has made its way on the internet suggesting that Devil May Cry 5 will launch for PS4 first.
The info comes from the same person who leaked the massive details. According to the leak, the Devil May Cry 5 will initially launch for PS4 alone, the game will come to PC after some time.
Furthermore, the leak suggests that it is likely that Devil May Cry 5 will not come to any other platform including Xbox One. Furthermore, the leak suggests that the game will be developed using Epic’s Unreal Engine 4.
According to the earlier leak, Devil May Cry 5 was supposed to be revealed at PSX 2017 but, after hearing the feedback at E3 2017 the game’s reveal has been pushed to E3 2018.
According to leaked details, Capcom will also release a demo before the game’s launch. The leak also suggests that the game will launch between April 2018 and March 2019.
Game has been in development for 2 years as of today. When it will release it will have been in development for 3 years at least. That is actually the highest time a DMC game has been in full production for. Pre-production started as early as 2015 around the time that DMC4SE finished releasing. There have been no development hiccups and as stated, the development has in fact been progressing smoothly.
However, given that this is just a rumor, take it as a grain of salt until Capcom officially announces the game.
Speaking of Devil May Cry, Hideki Kamiya, the man behind Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, and Okami, Kamiya, has hinted that he would like to develop a Devil May Cry/Bayonetta crossover game.
