Remedy’s Project 7 Sounds Multiplayer-Centric

Remedy Entertainment is working on a new game codenamed Project 7. The game seems to be a multiplayer-centric experience.

Multiplayer games are in these days thanks to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Destiny being one of the highest grossing titles ever. With sales of over 20 million for PUBGs alone, multiplayer games are not going anywhere as publishers like Tencent, Ubisoft, EA, Activision, and others see opportunities in this genre.

Remedy, the developer of Quantum Break and Alan Wake games, is now working on a game “codenamed” Project 7. There is not much we know about this project other than fact that it is an original by Remedy Entertainment. According to the studio, Project 7 “features an intriguing story with a cast of memorable characters. The game structure offers a long-lasting, story-driven gameplay experience and the deepest game mechanics yet in a Remedy game.”

Developed by Remedy, the game is published by 505 Games. Thanks to a new job listing, we can now safely say that Project 7 a multiplayer-centric game. We do expect it to have a story mode but the focus seems to be on its “innovative and long-lasting gameplay.”

The listing makes mention of XUR from Destiny 2 and asks if “you already designed the next Battle Royale? Are you always among the first to find Xûr?”

They are looking for a Game Designer so if you are interested head over to their official website.

Do not expect details about Project 7 anytime soon as the game seems to be in rather early stages of development. However, Remedy is also working on Crossfire 2 and that is something we expect to hear of soon.

Project 7 will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
