Blizzard Entertainment has shown off a new Hearthstone Legendary card that will be part of its upcoming Kobolds and Catacombs expansion. The card, a version of the dragon Temporus from World of Warcraft, appears to be a high-risk, high-reward item where both you and your opponent each take an extra turn.
Temporus is a 7-cost, 6/6 legendary, which means this is one of those cards that you play in the later stages of the game when you have a lot more mana and you’re really getting into the more complex strategies.
Currently there’s only one card in the game that allows you to take an extra turn, in the form of the Time Warp card that’s normally a Quest card for the Mage class. That card has proven to be devastating if you have the mana and deck build that can take advantage of it, and it seems like the new Hearthstone Legendary will be able to do the same thing.
However, unlike Time Warp, Temporus also allows your opponent to get an extra turn as well, meaning that you each have two turns to whale on one another with whatever cards that you’ve got. If you have the right cards in your hand, taking an extra turn gives you anywhere from 14 to 20 mana crystals to work with.
While Kobolds and Catacombs isn’t going to be coming out until sometime next month, players have already gotten a taste of the cards we can expect from it in the form of the Marin the Fox card, which gives your opponent a chest that you can then break to get a powerful magic item.
You’ll be able to pick up the new Hearthstone legendary when Kobolds and Catacombs comes out sometime next month. In the meantime, you should probably start to save up your gold or get your wallet ready so that you can buy a bunch of packs for a chance at getting it.
