AMD Vega 56 is the little brother to the AMD Vega 64 and we have not seen many custom versions of Vega GPUs and the only model to be tested is the Asus Strix Vega 64. We are now hearing about the upcoming Asus Strix Vega 56 model. Asus is going to be sampling the AMD Vega 56 and it should be similar to the Vega 64.
Looking at performance there should be a difference between the two as Asus Strix Vega 56 will not feature will not feature full Vega 10. Having that said I am sure that the cooling solution will be similar. Seeing how late the Asus Strix Vega 64 came out it will be surprising if the Asus Strix Vega 56 comes out before the end of the year.
We have seen some teasers of the AMD Vega 64 custom models but they have not reached the market yet and that has given Nvidia the time and the opportunity to release the Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti that takes on the AMD Vega 56, and does a pretty good job at that. Nvidia has also released the limited edition Nvidia Titan Xp Collector’s Edition that has been inspired by Star Wars.
The GTX 1070 Ti has been doing pretty well and unlike the Vega graphics cards, there are plenty of custom models to choose from. You can check out some of them here. The best performing one is from Asus and the smallest one is from Zotac.
The AMD Vega 64 custom Asus model did not have significant improvements as compared to the reference design model but that could change with the upcoming Vega 56 version from Asus. For more information regarding graphics cards and other tech stay tuned to SegmentNext.
