It has been public knowledge for a while now that Street Fighter V Arcade Edition will introduce a new V-Trigger for every playable character on the roster. Today, we finally get to see some of them in action.
Following the conclusion of Red Bull Battle Grounds on the weekend, Capcom released a new trailer to show off “V-Trigger II” as well as new moves, combo extenders, and mix-ups for Ryu, Ken, Ibuki, Guile, Birdie, Nash and more.
Capcom wants to remind everyone that Street Fighter V Arcade Edition will be a free update to all existing owners of the game. The developer will not be locking new content, such as the upcoming arcade mode, behind a pay-wall. However, keep in mind that the upcoming edition will not feature the post-release characters from previous seasons. Those must still be unlocked through either in-game or real-world currency.
Street Fighter V Arcade Edition is scheduled to release on January 16 for PlayStation 4 and PC at the cost of $39.99. It will be available in both physical and digital forms on the console, but only digitally on PC. Securing an early physical copy from select retailers will get you nine costumes for free.
The game will be playable for the public, for the first time, on the show-floor at PlayStation Experience (PSX 2017) next month.
