Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon is releasing today and you have all the right in the world to be hyped. Grab your Nintendo 3DS, dust it off and start playing. If you were waiting anxiously though to transfer your favorite Pokemon with the cloud-based Pokemon Bank then you’ll be sad to find out that this feature won’t be available on day one.
As Pokemon authority Serebii.net revealed, the Pokemon Bank feature will be added to Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon later in November. Trades between versions is available normally in the game. The source reveals:
“You won’t be able to trade Pokémon who hold any of the new items over to Pokémon Sun & Moon, but you can trade them fine between various copies of Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. You also cannot trade Pokémon who have the new moves that are introduced in the new game.”
For those not familiar with this feature, Pokémon Bank is an application and service that will allow you to deposit, store, and manage your Pokémon in private Boxes on the cloud. The application has been updated to support the Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon games but doesn’t currently have an announcement about the launch of Pokemon Bank on Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.
Having a few days before the Pokemon Bank goes live on Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon seems like a fair decision since everyone would just transfer super powerful Pokemon from their previous games and all the progress grind would be gone. Fans on Twitter seem to be content with this announcement even if done so with a pinch of salt. For what it’s worth, Pokemon Transfer won’t be unavailable for long so it’s worth the wait.
