New Batman Rumor: Jake Gyllenhaal Could Replace Ben Affleck As The New Dark Knight
We have a new Batman rumor and this one is very interesting indeed. It is possible that Jake Gyllenhaal could be replacing Ben Affleck in the upcoming Batman movies. Ben Affleck has done a great job so far and has got good reviews from people but I guess it is time for some change. Do take this with a grain of salt as this has not been finalized yet.
Gyllenhaal has met with director Mark Reeves, who is attached to direct a Batman solo. Having that said this is not the first time that Jake Gyllenhaal has been offered to play a role of a superhero. He was also offered to play Spiderman but was not able to do so because of a back injury. The actor has also been part of Southpaw, The Prince of Persia, Nocturnal Animals as well as Sourcecode to mention a few.
We will see how people react to this choice and how much people are attached to Ben Affleck but what we do know is that Jake Gyllenhaal has not been locked down for the role yet. Jake Gyllenhaal was also lined up for Batman Begins but then it was Christian Bale that got the role instead.
Jake Gyllenhaal has also hesitated to be part of franchises in the past and when he was rumored to be associated with Marvel he quickly shot down the rumor. The following is what he had to say in this regard.
“I just don’t think I would fit there. As I get older I am much less interested in hoping people see me in a certain way and more interested in just doing whatever I’m doing. They can like it or not. This is where I am.”
