DICE’s Reddit AMA about Star Wars Battlefront 2 is giving mixed feeling to all fans right now. Even though DICE, unlike EA, is trying to give answers and work out ways to make the game a better experience for everyone, fans can’t shake the feeling that DICE is mainly apologizing because they created a “greedy” game. In a complaint made about Star Wars Battlefront 2 Crafting Materials and how they should be given out to players in bigger amounts, the company gave a positive answer and promised to provide it as soon as possible.
The issue was that “Crafting parts need to be easier to acquire and more plentiful, so that we can choose which Star Cards that we want to upgrade, rather than having to submit to loot crate RNG”. According to the community, players want to feel like we’re making progress in the game, and it currently takes way too long to unlock Star Cards and Upgrades. DICE’s response was the following:
We are always going to be looking at the system from the back end, making changes depending on how we see people progressing. If it looks as though the crafting parts aren’t being given out quickly enough, we’ll look into changes to fix that. We know our players are looking for more direct paths in getting the thing they really want, so we’ll look to provide that as quickly as we can.
DICE is giving some interesting answers today on their Reddit AMA about the game’s future. The responses are given by Paul Keslin, one of the Multiplayer Producers over at DICE, Dennis, a Design Director for Battlefront 2 and John Wasilczyk, the executive producer of Star Wars Battlefront 2 so you can say that at least the company isn’t just sending a marketing spokesperson to talk about the game’s development.
Is this just a way for the developer team to calm the fans’ spirits or are they really willing to make things work for the better? DICE is making progress though by announcing changes to Star Cards and its crate system as well Star Wars Battlefront 2 matchmaking.
