Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Might See the Return of the Galactic Conquest, Expect Spawn Changes
The Galactic Conquest game mode from the original Star Wars: Battlefront games might see a return in Star Wars: Battlefront 2, according to Dennis Brannvall, Associate Design Director at DICE. EA Dice ditched the celebrated, turn-based strategy game mode during the development of Star Wars: Battlefront.
During a recent AMA, a Redditor asked whether there were any plans of bringing back the game mode. In response, Dennis Brannvall said that he would love to see the game mode return but it would have to be large enough and deep to belong to a 2017 Star Wars game.
I played a ton of Galactic Conquest in the old games and I would love to bring it back. If we ever did it, it would have to be large enough and deep enough to belong in a Star Wars game in 2017. But yeah, I’d love to take a stab at delivering that at some point. We’ll see!
In addition to this, Brannvall also stated that the studio is currently prototyping an update to the spawn waves that would allow parties to stay together and spawn on each other. However, there is no timeline as of now.
That being said, we’re currently prototyping an update to our spawn waves that allow parties to stay together and spawn on each other. No timeline yet, but we’ll let you know.
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 releases on Nov. 17, 2017 for PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4.
