DICE Is Lowering The Prices Of Heroes In Star Wars Battlefront 2 By 75%
There are many discussions undergoing about EA and Star Wars Battlefront 2 at the moment, most of them focusing on the loot system that the game implements. DICE has just released a message from John Wasilczyk, Executive Producer at the company. DICE seems to be taking what fans want under big consideration and that’s why the game will undergo several changes until it reaches the players’ expectations.
Wasilczyk stated that the company was taking feedback from alpha phase to beta to Play First Trial and this is why they are providing some first changes to the way you purchase your heroes, which seems to be a big matter for the fans. In the case of playable characters, players will have to spend around 40 hours in game-time in order to unlock Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader. Specifically, he said:
There’s been a lot of discussion around the amount of in-game credits (and time) it takes to unlock some of our heroes, especially Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. Unlocking a hero is a great accomplishment in the game, something we want players to have fun earning. We used data from the beta to help set those levels, but it’s clear that more changes were needed.
So DICE is now reducing the amount of credits needed to unlock the top heroes by 75%. Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader will now be available for 15,000 credits; Emperor Palpatine, Chewbacca, and Leia Organa for 10,000 credits; and Iden at 5,000 credits. There’s also a rumor that you will have to pay double to unlock new heroes in the game but that statement is not yet confirmed.
DICE’s executive producer made it clear that the company is always taking into consideration what fans want so they are eager to hear their opinions on their Reddit AMA this Wednesday.
In other news, the first DLC-Event of Star Wars Battlefront 2 is coming this December named “The Last Jedi Season”, where you have to choose your side and compete in Faction activities. Regarding new character, Finn will join Star Wars Battlefront 2 for the Resistance and Captain Phasma will join the First Order and they will be available for purchase with in-game Credits that week.
