Star Wars Battlefront II is just around the corner and here we are going to look at how well the Nvidia GTX 1070 performs in the game as compared to the AMD Vega 56. Both GPUs cater to the higher end market with 1440p being their sweet spot but we are going to see how well these graphics cards play Star Wars Battlefront II at 1080p, 1440p and 4K.
Looking at Star Wars Battlefront II 1080p performance the Nvidia GTX 1070 manages to run the game at 127 FPS, the AMD Vega 56, on the other hand, manages to deliver 125 FPS. The difference is not a huge one but the Nvidia GTX 1070 does come out on top so you have an idea of how well the new Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti will perform in the game.
Moving on to 1440p, here we see that the Nvidia GTX 1070 keep the lead with an average FPS of 84 FPS. The AMD Vega GPU is only slightly behind with less than one FPS difference which is very competitive. Looking at the 4K performance of both graphics cards when running Star Wars Battlefront II, the Nvidia GTX 1070 runs the game at 42 FPS.
The AMD Vega 56 takes the lead at 4K with one more FPS. Neither GPUs are able to run the game at 4K 60 FPS and both have very similar performance. DICE also announced new content for the game in the form of a new map and a new hero ship:
On December 13, the cinematic content from Star Wars™: The Last Jedi continues with a new planetary map: Crait. The Starfighter Assault map of D’Qar will join as well, plus a new hero ship – Tallie Lintra’s RZ-2 A-wing. Poe Dameron’s T-70 X-wing is also upgraded with a new ability inspired by Star Wars™: The Last Jedi .
