A recent leak about Injustice 2 Fighter Pack 3 has lent evidence to an interesting crossover idea. According to the leak, a picture of what appears to be the file directory of the game pack, players might soon be seeing Celebrimbor from Warner Bros’s Lord of the Rings games very soon.
Celebrimbor is one of the central characters of the Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War games, being bound to the Ranger Talion as they attempt to bring down Sauron to take revenge on murdered families.
Exactly why Celebrimbor and Talion would be coming into the DC world remains to be seen, but considering the Mortal Kombat characters and fighters like Hellboy that are also in it, apparently there’s no boundary that can’t be crossed.
We don’t really know what other fighters Injustice 2 fighter pack 3, but the possibility of Celebrimbor being in the game has a lot of credence to it; both the Injustice and Shadow of Mordor franchises are under the ownership of Warner Bros, and part of the data leak for Injustice 2 shows “Celebrimbor Victory” and “Celebrimbor CharIntro”, two animations that couldn’t be used for anything else.
Injustice 2 Fighter Pack 3 might also have a number of other surprise faces in it. While Talion is an alternate costume for Celebrimbor, there are still a number of other surprising or outright mysterious names. First off we have the name “Alma”, who apparently isn’t a DC character. However, that name could be a codename for a different character.
While it’s not the name of any DC character, “Alma” does have a reference in one of the antagonists of the FEAR games, who has psychic powers and is also a sort-of ghost. This code name could be referring to two other DC characters, the villainess Enchantress, or the hero Deadman.
Either way, we’ll have to see when the third fighter pack comes out for the game who’s joining Celebrimbor in the game.
