Just last month Epic Games revealed that Fortnite passed 7 million players and that number has increased significantly in that month as the studio has revealed that the game has passed another milestone in terms of players.
According to Epic Games, Fortnite has passed 20 million players across all platforms since its launch. This player figure includes both paid base game and the free-to-play Battle Royale game. However, the studio didn’t specify a breakdown between the paid and free-to-play version but, we have a feeling that the Free-to-play version might have the biggest piece of the player base.

Fortnite saw a significant boost is its player base with the launch of free-to-play Battle Royale mode or it. However, Bluehole at first wasn’t particularly happy about the game featuring the free-to-play Battle Royale mode.
We’ve had an ongoing relationship with Epic Games throughout PUBG’s development as they are the creators of UE4, the engine we licensed for the game. After listening to the growing feedback from our community and reviewing the gameplay for ourselves, we are concerned that Fortnite may be replicating the experience for which PUBG is known.
Speaking of PUBG, the game will hit Xbox One in December and will be a console launch exclusive for Xbox One. However, the game’s exclusivity on Xbox One might get extended as reportedly Microsoft is in talks with the studio to extend PUBG exclusivity on Xbox One.
