Sony PlayStation dominated the console space in 2017 with millions of units sold and even more copies of software pushed to the consumer. Sony has made itself and the developers a lot of money this year. But the company hopes to do even better in 2018.
According to the president of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, Sony PlayStation’s 2018 is going to be bigger and better in the next 12 months. He explained that many big games are planned for 2018. We are expecting to see God of War, Death Stranding, The Last of Us 2, and Days Gone release for PlayStation 4 next year.
There are also some rumors of a new PlayStation being announced at E3 2018 but we highly doubt Sony will discuss hardware before 2019, possibly 2020 even. The company is going strong with PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro so there is no need for new hardware right now.
Microsoft has already announced its Xbox One X which means the ball is in Sony’s court completely. The Japanese giant can take its time and bring us an even better gaming machine.
Anyways, one of the major games in development is Hideo Kojima’s Dead Stranding, which some claim is Silent Hills in disguise.
Recently when a Russian band t.A.T.u released a song titled “Silent Hills.” It may be just a coincidence that it matches one of the most popular horror games around. But knowing Hideo Kojima, nothing with his marketing is a coincidence. We all know what happened when The Phantom Pain was announced.
