The upcoming Nvidia Titan X Collectors Edition has been teased in a short clip and it seems that this will be the top of the line Pascal based GPU. The graphics card is expected to come out before the end of the year and it is possible that this is yet another move to capitalize on the fact that AMD Vega GPUs are short in the market.
The GTX 1070 Ti was just announced and it brings plenty to the table but whether or not it beats the AMD Vega 56 depends on the game that you are playing. In most cases, the GTX 1070 Ti does come out on top but there are those couple of games where the AMD Vega 56 has the upper hand. We also see a difference in APIs.
We have seen plenty of Nvidia Titan X GPUs in the past and the Nvidia Titan X Collectors Edition might take charge of the Pascal series of GPU by beating the GTX 1080 Ti. When the graphics card first came out Nvidia claimed that it would offer Nvidia Titan X level performance for a lower cost and that does seem to be the case but with the Nvidia Titan X Collectors Edition coming out things might change. The
Nvidia Titan X variants that we have seen so far are as follows:
- GeForce GTX TITAN (Kepler)
- GeForce GTX TITAN Z (Kepler)
- GeForce GTX TITAN X (Maxwell)
- TITAN X (Pascal)
- TITAN Xp (Pascal)
We also heard about a Volta based Titan GPU and it is possible that this upcoming Nvidia Titan X Collectors Edition is based on Volta instead. If that is the case then it is possible that this could be the first Volta based consumer GPU that you can buy. Having that said, Nvidia CEO did say that Volta will not be coming out this year.
If that is the case then it is more than likely that the upcoming Nvidia Titan X Collectors Edition will be based on Pascal architecture rather than Nvidia Volta. Furthermore, seeing how this is a collectors edition graphics card you can be sure that people will be paying a premium in order to get one and there will be a limited number of cards available that will also ramp up the price.
Let us know what you think about the Nvidia Titan X Collectors Edition and whether or not you are interested in buying one of these graphics cards.
