Microsoft’s Xbox One X is just a few days away from launch and since the reveal of the console, Microsoft has been talking a lot about its specs, however, Sony’s Jim Rayan is not interested in Xbox One X specs but, is interested in the game that will run on the console.
Speaking with The Telegraph, Jim Ryan was asked was about his opinion on Xbox One X specs to which he revealed that he is not interested in the specs but emphasized on the games that will run on those specs which are the only thing that will make a difference.
Specs are interesting but that’s all they are: specifications. The proof is in how the games look – and which games they are. You saw last night, there was a great range of games – many of which are exclusive to our platform and you will only find on a PS4 Pro, that I think allow us to feel – as I said almost three times last night – that we remain the best place to play.
He added that first-party titles are the “key differentiators” as Sony has Uncharted 4, Gran Turismo Sport, Horizon Zero Dawn and more which are developed by studios in different countries. “We’ve spent a lot of time nurturing that network of studios, a lot of time over many, many years, and a lot of hard work. but we think now it’s a big asset for us”.
While Microsoft is behind in terms of first-party titles but, Phil Spencer has already said that there are multiple first-party titles in development for Xbox One which the company will reveal in 2-3 years.
What is your take on the situation? Should Microsoft concentrate more on the first-party title than Xbox One X specs? Let us know in the comments.
