A Far Cry 5 co-op trailer has been released at the Paris Game Show, showing off all the things that you and a buddy can do together in Far Cry 5 when the game comes out next year. Backed up with “Happy Together”, you can drive vehicles, kill cultists, and more together.
Co-Op play has been available in the past three Far Cry games, though until now the co-op play has been somewhat lackluster. Far Cry 3’s gameplay isn’t relevant to the game’s story, mainly focusing on four different people attempting to get revenge on a ship captain who sold his entire ship and all its passengers out to pirates.
Far Cry 4’s co-op allowed you free reign of Kyrat with a buddy, but if you liberated any towers or fortresses or did anything, the progress would only be saved to the account of the host, meaning that you had to do everything again in your own game once you got back to single-player. You also couldn’t play campaign missions.
All of that, despite the fun havoc to be had, made Far Cry 4’s co-op fairly unfulfilling and annoying to deal with.
The Far Cry 5 co-op trailer, however, promises a lot more than that. Players will be able to do every mission together as they fight to drive the Eden’s Gate cult out of Hope County, Montana, along with driving every vehicle and doing everything that there is to do. Unfortunately, Far Cry 5 will continue to have the same problem that Far Cry 4 did. Aside from loot and perks and levels, players won’t keep the same progression if they’re not the host.
Far Cry 5 will be available on February 27 of next year for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC. If you want to take a look at the Far Cry 5 Co-Op trailer for yourself, just look further up the article.
