The ongoing sixth season is scheduled to conclude in a couple of days for Overwatch. Players currently trying to grind their way for a better rank should take note that Competitive Play will go offline on October 28 at exactly 5:00 p.m. PT later this week. Blizzard will then begin handing out rewards in accordance to the final ratings in the following days. The new season should officially commence from October 31.
“If you completed your placement matches during Season 6, you will eligible to receive a special spray and player icon,” community manager Josh Engen wrote on the official forums. “These will be unlocked automatically when you log into your account the first time after the season ends.
Players who are placed within the top 500 on a platform and in a region at the end will receive an extra player icon and animated spray in addition to the other seasonal rewards.
Players will also receive a number of Competitive Points (CP) based on the maximum Skill Rating (SR) they achieved during the season. The breakdown can be seen below.
- SR 1-1499 (Bronze): 65 CP
- SR 1500-1999 (Silver): 125 CP
- SR 2000-2499 (Gold): 250 CP
- SR 2500-2999 (Platinum): 500 CP
- SR 3000-3499 (Diamond): 750 CP
- SR 3500-3999 (Master): 1250 CP
- SR 4000-5000 (Grandmaster): 1750 CP
Overwatch recently passed 35 million players worldwide. It is currently hosting Halloween Terror across all platforms with a new Player-versus-Environment (PvE) mode and a bag of new legendary skins. The event is scheduled to run through November 1.
