Nintendo Switch Firmware Update 4.0.1 Now Live, Fixes HDMI Issue And Brings Performance Stability

Nintendo has been supporting Nintendo Switch with frequent firmware updates as the recently, update 4.0.0 was rolled out that brought significant features to the console. However, the same update also caused an issue with the console and to counter it Nintendo has rolled out Nintendo Switch firmware update 4.0.1.

According to Nintendo, Nintendo Switch firmware update 4.0.1 brings stability improvements along with a fix for HDMI issue that caused the TV to turn on while the HDMI was connected in docked mode.

General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience, including:

  • Changed the HDMI connection process specification to match that of version 3.0.2 to address video and sound output issues with some TV models.

Nintendo Switch has been getting quite a lot of third-party titles and seems like the list of third-party titles for the hybrid console just keeps on increasing with games such as Doom, L.A Noire and more are coming next month. However, the console might also see the release of Star Wars Battlefront 2.

Motive Studios producer David Robillard recently hinted that Star Wars Battlefront 2 could come to Switch but, that is not in studio’s plans for now.

This is something we’ll explore if we see opportunities there, but it is not something that’s on the books right now

Also, Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy might also come to Switch. The clue that Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy might come to Nintendo Switch comes from Keymailer, which is a site that helps reviewers to get a hold of review codes. The site has listed Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy for Nintendo Switch.
