AMD Ryzen Mobile Processors With AMD Vega Graphics Launched, Feature Precision Boost 2 And Mobile XFR

The announcement of the AMD Ryzen Mobile processors has finally been made and here we are going to talk about what AMD brings to the table by getting back into the mobile market. The processor that we are going to talk about is the AMD Ryzen 7 2700U which comes with mobile XFR technology which can boost the clock speeds of the AMD Ryzen Mobile processors.

AMD Ryzen Mobile Processors feature Zen and AMD Vega graphics core so you can expect to see some serious performance. These CPUs will have low TDP and hence allow notebooks to have longer battery life. According to AMD, the AMD Ryzen Mobile Processors are able to deliver up to 200% more CPU performance and Up to 128% more GPU performance.

The Mobile XFR feature will allow the AMD Ryzen Mobile processors to overclock themselves in premium notebooks where better cooling is being used. This is something that we have already seen in the desktop CPU but the mobile application should be interesting.

AMD Ryzen Mobile 2700U Benchmarks

The AMD Ryzen 7 2700U is able to deliver 59 FPS in League of Legends at medium settings at 1080p. Furthermore, we see DOTA 2 running at 40 FPS at 1080p at the fastest preset and Overwatch running at 66 FPS at the lowest settings and 79% render scale. The APU is able to run CS:GO at 49 FPS at medium settings at 1080. You can check out the benchmarks below:

The APU is also able to run Quake Champions at 43 FPS at high settings at 720p. This goes to show that performance will differ from game to game and that the APU on its own will allow you to play games at 720p.

AMD Ryzen 7 2700U Vs Intel i7-8550U

Here we can see how well AMD Ryzen Mobile Processors competes with the 8th generation of Intel Mobile CPUs. The AMD Ryzen 7 2700U is very competitive against the Intel mobile chip in both single-threaded and multi-threaded workloads but keep in mind that this is not the only chip that AMD s going to release as we have already heard about the upcoming Ryzen 5 2500U.

Both of these chips are low powered so they will ensure higher battery life in notebooks so that you dont have your laptop plugged in all the time.

AMD Ryzen Mobile Powered Devices

Now that we have seen the gaming benchmarks of the APU and we have seen how well it stands to the competition, let’s take a look at the products that will be powered by the AMD Ryzen Mobile APU. You can check them out below.

According to new reports, the AMD Ryzen Mobile processors will be exclusive to Acer, Lenovo and HP for a limited time and that is why the products that we know of right now are from these 3 companies.

Let us know what you think about the AMD Ryzen 7 2700U and whether or not you are interested in buying devices that will be powered by AMD Ryzen Mobile processors when such devices come out.
