Destiny 2 PC is out now and the game is very well optimized for the platform, which is no surprise considering that the game has been designed from the ground up for PC. Destiny 2 PC benchmarks also reveal Nvidia dominance and why the Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti is needed in the market.
Unlike the console version of the game, Destiny 2 PC features uncapped FPS and support for 4K 60 FPS gameplay with HDR. This makes the PC the best platform to play the game for enthusiasts that live on the bleeding edge even though the game is considered to be a console shooter first.
If you want to get the most out of your hardware then be sure to check out our Destiny 2 PC hardware tweaks guide. While the GTX 1070 is able to keep up with the AMD Vega 56 at 1080p, there is just a minor difference and the AMD RX Vega 56 and Vega 64 dominate at higher resolutions and that is one of the reasons why we are getting the Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti later next month.
The graphics card will be announced tomorrow and it will be hitting the shelves at the start of November. You can check out Destiny 2 PC benchmarks at 1080p, 1440p and 4K below:
Destiny 2 PC Benchmarks: 1080p
At 1080p the Nvidia Titan XP comes out on top but the GTX 1080 Ti is not far behind. Nvidia takes the lead at 1080p with more than 100 FPS in Destiny 2 at the highest preset. The GTX 1080 comes in at the 3rd place but then we see the AMD Vega 64 make a move, which is interesting.
At 1080p the Nvidia GTX 1070 manages to beat the AMD Vega 56 but not by a huge margin. The difference is a minor 2 FPS. It is nice to see that even the previous generation Nvidia GTX 980 Ti and GTX 980 perform well too. The mid-range, GTX 1060 also manages to run the game pretty well. If you are playing the game at 60 FPS then this is a great card for you to look out for.
The AMD RX series GPUs also perform well and so does the GTX 1050 Ti. Keep in mind that if you lower a few settings as mentioned in our tweaks guide then even the GTX 1050 Ti should be able to get to 60 FPS at 1080p.
Destiny 2 PC Benchmarks: 1440p
At the higher resolution even though the Titan XP and the 1080 Ti stay on top we do see that the AMD Vega cards perform better than the 1080 and the 1070. Here is where the GTX 1070 Ti is supposed to come into play, in order to beat the AMD Vega 56. The Vega 56 even manages to beat the GTX 1080 at 1440p.
The GTX 1080 is still able to get to 60 FPS at 1440p and you should be able to hit that number with the GTX 1070 as well with some tweaks. Another interesting thing to note here is that the AMD RX 580 and 570 both outperform the previous generation 980 at 1440p. Both of these should also be able to run the game at 60 FPS after consulting our tweaks guide.
Destiny 2 PC Benchmarks: 4K
At the highest settings at 4K no card is able to get to 60 FPS but that is alright as you will be able to do so by using the high preset. At 4K resolution, you will hardly be able to tell the difference. People using multiple graphics cards will have a better chance of getting to more than 60 FPS with all settings maxed out.
At 4K again, the AMD Vega GPUs manage to outperform the GTX 1080 and 1070, You can check out all the Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti cards that have been confirmed ahead of launch.
Let us know what you think about thee Destiny 2 PC benchmarks and whether or not you are going to play the game on PC.
