Critics weren’t happy with Bethesda when the company decided to not send early review copies for its games to reviewers which meant that the reviews for the game came out a few days later after their launch. However, it seems that Bethesda has seen the folly of its action and has decided to give out early review copies for its games.
The news comes from IGN editor, who noted on Twitter while replying to a fan that Bethesda has stopped the practice of giving review copies at the game’s launch saying “They’re back to giving out copies a few days early. Not as far in advance as I’d like, but a big improvement.”
This is a positive change from the company as it would not only help the reviewers to post a review before the game’s launch but, will also help consumers who can see the reviews before getting the game and decide if they want to buy it or not.
In related news, since the last expansion for Skyrim came out, fans have been waiting for Elder Scrolls 6 and Bethesda is quite silent on the matter. However, the company has noted that they are aware of fans wanting Elder Scrolls 6 but, they are also worried.
Bethesda Vice President of PR and Marketing Pete Hines expressed that he is worried about what to tell to the series’ fans. He added that a few years back he went to Bethesda Game Studios Director Todd Howard to ask for guidance on what to tell the fans. Also, Bethesda is being very careful about the setting the fans expectation on the game.
We know it’s important to our fans, and we need to be careful about setting expectations. It’s certainly a game that we’ll be making one day. I could sit here and explain to you exactly what we want it to be.
