Star Wars Battlefront 2 is one of the most anticipated games to launch this year, however, the game came under heavy criticism as soon as beta went online when players learned of its loot boxes. However, the gaming community is not the only one criticizing the game but, ex-Bioware dev thinks that developers working on Star Wars Battlefront 2 are useless.
Speaking with Waypoint, ex-Bioware Montreal designer Manveer Heir talked about a lot of things but, one thing in particular that stood out is that he thinks that he knew developers working on the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront 2 to be useless at Bioware Montreal.
The problem is that they pick people who were part of the problem and move them over. There are people right now working at Motive working on the Star Wars: Battlefront game who I know to be useless and to not have done a good job on Mass Effect: Andromeda. Why are they continuing to have jobs and getting things? Is it because they’re white and a man? Possibly.
Also, EA has been facing backlash from Star Wars fans over the implementation of loot boxes in the Star Wars Battlefront 2 and according to EA, player’s fears about making Star Wars Battlefront 2 a pay-to-win title with loot boxes is understandable and at the same time he admitted that these accusations are “hard to dodge”.
EA’s Chris Matthews added that with Battlefront 2 DICE has done an incredible job to balance it.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a first-person action shooter in development at DICE and is scheduled to launch this fall for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Also, DICE has hinted that the game might also come to Nintendo Switch but, fans will have to wait a bit.
