Unlike the first Star Wars Battlefront, the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront 2 will feature a single-player campaign that will be canon to Star Wars movies. However, fans have been wondering about the campaign’s length and the developers have confirmed how long the campaign will be.
Speaking with Press-Start, EA Motive’s studio producer David Robillard confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront 2 single-player campaign will last around 5-7 hours and maybe will stretch to about 8 hours.
we thought that around 5-7, maybe 8 hours is probably a good amount of time…we wanted to stay very driven towards the Star Wars fantasy that the players are going to experience and not have it be drawn out.
Also, EA has been facing backlash from Star Wars fans over the implementation of loot boxes in the Star Wars Battlefront 2 and according to EA, player’s fears about making Star Wars Battlefront 2 a pay-to-win title with loot boxes is understandable and at the same time he admitted that these accusations are “hard to dodge”.
EA’s Chris Matthews added that with Battlefront 2 DICE has done an incredible job to balance it.
DICE has taken great care to make sure that Star Cards and the way they work give you more options in battle. Terms like pay-to-win and stuff like that are hard to dodge, but the guys are doing a really incredible job of trying to balance that system.
[The response] is not annoying because we love the fans. We’re gamers and we’re trying to make something that’s super-compelling that everybody’s going to enjoy, but, you know, it’s understandable.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a first-person action shooter in development at DICE and is scheduled to launch this fall for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Also, DICE has hinted that the game might also come to Nintendo Switch but, fans will have to wait a bit.
