It is not the first time that it has happened that copies of Call of Duty were stolen ahead of launch and with Call of Duty: WW2 launch just around the corner a man has been charged with stealing copies of the game and then selling those stolen copies.
A man from Terre Haute, Indiana has been charged with theft and “offense against intellectual property” for stealing copies of the PS4 version of Call of Duty: WW2 from a factory owned by Sony. Sony has a DADC facilities in the region where the company produces its CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Ray discs.
According to the report, the man had been selling the game for $45 on eBay and there were a lot of discs stolen from the factory earlier this month which also included Madden NFL 18.
Also, it is not known how the man managed to get hold of Call of Duty: WW2 copies as there is no record of him working at the factory.
In related news, Call of Duty: WW2 has not even launched yet and news about next year’s Call of Duty title has already started to make rounds on the internet. According to the industry analyst, next year’s Call of Duty will be Call of Duty Black Ops 4. Cowen & Company predicted it as part of the company’s note to investor’s regarding its worries about Activision’s financial performance in 2018.
Also, while Activision is yet to reveal how much maps the game will feature at launch but, a report has emerged suggesting that there will be 10 multiplayer maps for Call of Duty: WW2 available at launch.
Call of Duty: WW2 is a first-person action shooter developed by Sledgehammer Games and is scheduled to launch on November 3, 2017, for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
