The big Xbox One Fall update is now available for you to install on your Xbox One, and will be helping you be able to personalize the console’s dashboard to how you want it, rather than just having to work your way around it to find what you want to use.
The main feature of the personalization is the addition of the “blocks” for the Xbox One dashboard, meaning you can pin a game or an app to a certain spot so that you don’t have to look around for it in your games and apps.
The Xbox One has often gotten a good bit of criticism due to the apparent obtuseness of its dashboard, which Microsoft had repeatedly attempted to change without much success. However, hopefully this new update allows players to find their way around their dashboard more easily, and be able to pin them better to keep them more visible.
Xbox One owners will also be able to change the lighting on their dashboard, going from dark, light, and high contrast variants to help them reach the light setting that is easiest on your eyes. Along with the new lighting, the Xbox One X will be able to stream 1080p resolution things by default if it thinks that your wireless internet can support it.
The Xbox One Fall update also sets the stage for when the Xbox One X will be releasing in November, and allows you to also transfer all of your data from your Xbox One to your Xbox One X, providing instructions for how to import data, along with being able to download 4K content. With this in mind, you won’t have to wait very long before you can start playing games on your Xbox One X.
To see the new Xbox One Fall update four yourself, all you have to do is download the update and customize your dashboard the way you want it.
