We are just a week away from seeing Destiny 2 officially launch for PC, nearly two months after the highly anticipated sequel released for consoles.
Based on promises previously made by Bungie, the PC version of the game is going to be identical to the console versions in terms of functionality. The greatest difference will be where Destiny 2 takes advantage of beefier hardware on PC to pump prettier visuals and smoother gameplay at high resolutions.
This includes uncapped frame rates, high dynamic range (HDR) colors, anti-aliasing, better visual fidelity and lightning, higher draw distance, customization of reticle, and native support for glorious 4K resolution.
Bungie has repeatedly stated that Destiny 2 is not simply being ported over. Rather, the PC version has been developed from the ground up to make sure that enthusiasts are able to enjoy exclusive features as long as their systems are capable of doing so.
The launch trailer, released earlier today, makes that evident by showcasing what Destiny 2 will look like on PC when everything is maxed out. The sequel really does feature stunning visuals, and the combat is likely to put players on edge in anticipation of the release.
The trailer also highlights many of the perfect or near perfect review scores that major publications gave away last month when Destiny 2 released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
For those unware, Destiny 2 will not release on Steam and will be exclusively available through the Blizzard Battle.net client. This means that the game will be completely integrated with the platform’s social and online features, as well as other related services. Since players will obviously be able to purchase Destiny 2 through Blizzard Balance, virtual credits loaded with real-world money, there is also the likelihood that the game will be purchasable through World of Warcraft Tokens.
Destiny 2 is scheduled to officially launch for PC on October 24 next week. 2017 for PC.
